Girl with cancer spat at by teen boys at Thorpe Park ‘because of shaved head’
A young girl suffering cancer was “spat at” by a group of boys in a vile attack while she tried to enjoy a family trip to Thorpe Park.
The parents of the eight-year-old believe she was “deliberately targeted” because she had a shaved head due to treatment for the disease.
They were making their way out of the grounds when they crossed paths with four youths waiting to board a water slide on June 6.
One of the teenagers disgustingly spat at the eight-year-old girl.
Surrey Police has now launched an investigation into the incident and officers are hunting the suspects.
The group is described as 17-year-old boys, all around 5ft 8ins tall.
The teenager who spat on the girl is described as Mediterranean, with curly black brown hair and was wearing a black t-shirt.
The other boys are described as white – one had short blonde hair and was wearing a black t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms, while another was wearing shorts and a t-shirt with a side pouch.
A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses after an assault at Thorpe Park on Sunday 6 June.
“Between 6pm and 7pm, a family of four were passing the information desk on the water slides by The Dome on their way out of the park.
“As they walked out, a group of four teenage boys waiting in line on the staircase for a water slide started spitting at them.
“The parents were concerned that their eight-year-old daughter had been deliberately targeted because she has a shaved head due to cancer treatment.”
